The Head of SEO provides expertise and resources to the SEO team to help create and maintain successful SEO campaigns for our clients, as well as develop and implement new processes within the department.


The Head of SEO leads all aspects of the implementation of Wonderist Agency’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services, leads specialists in determining the best possible SEO strategies that yield the highest ROI for clients and creates processes that streamline the implementation of these strategies. Some essential functions of the role include:

  • Hiring: Leads hiring efforts for positions within the department and manages team resources to optimize the SEO department’s capacity to perform work as efficiently as possible.
  • Client Retention: Cultivates excellent retention of clients receiving SEO monthly services through outstanding, tangible results.
  • Insourcing Management: Manages insourcing of SEO assignments from Wonderist-adjacent businesses including Merger Labs, NOMOS, Your Virtual Consult, and Well Rounded.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Acts as main point of contact internally for SEO-related questions or needs, and coordinates cross-departmental initiatives and decision making.
  • Resource Management: Identifies strong and weak areas within the department to better allocate resources to benefit client campaigns and Wonderist’s success as an agency.
  • Goal Setting and Management: Helps determine the SEO team’s goals and how to best manage them. You will be responsible for coming up with quarterly goals for the department and implementing a strategy to accomplish them. Additionally, you will be tasked with compiling analytics each quarter to show your team’s goal success and how it contributes to the agency’s overall success.
  • Employee Growth and Relations: Head of SEO provides feedback to SEO team members and helps them grow within their roles. You will be responsible for ensuring team members have the support they need to do their jobs while identifying what is best for the company and the team.


  • Leadership: You know the difference between a leader and a manager, and you’ll be able to wear both hats effectively. You are an advocate for your team, while simultaneously recognizing opportunities that challenge your team to be better, faster, and stronger
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong ability to build and optimize SEO campaigns, either creating from scratch or developing upon previously established campaigns. Uses robust knowledge of best practices relating to digital marketing, local marketing, dental marketing, financial service marketing, legal marketing, and chiropractic marketing to provide specialized expertise
  • Project Management: Development, implementation, and continuous evolution of logical project workflows that are transparent within the organization’s shared management system
  • Task Prioritization/Organization: Ability to prioritize a large volume of client accounts, effectively managing resources to triage their needs for optimal client satisfaction. You will need to make decisions on which tasks and accounts take priority in certain situations.
  • Great Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both internally with the team and externally with clients, to answer questions and relay information related to the delivery of SEO services and the concepts and strategies underlying them
  • Understanding of Agency Processes: Deep understanding of internal procedures and processes within Wonderist Agency and related businesses, plus ability to innovate and effect change in alignment with the organization’s long term goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Account managers and clients rely on our team for accurate numbers regarding each client’s SEO campaigns. A strong attention to detail is a must in order to accurately identify and communicate those numbers to others, while identifying areas for improvement in individual campaigns.
  • Client-Focused Approach: What’s best for the client is at the forefront of what you do. Our main goal is to provide a marketing outlet for clients to increase their ROI. All decisions that are made on client accounts are for the betterment of the client’s overall practice goals.

  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • 3+ years of SEO experience
  • 2+ management experience
  • Google Analytics Certified


  • Local business marketing experience (preferably dental/medical industry)
