Meet Joanna Our Newest Account Manager

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of our account management team! Joanna Wong comes to Wonderist Agency with over five years of experience in marketing and communications. Although she’s spent the last eight years in San Diego, she is a San Francisco native who prefers beaches and Mexican food over perpetual fog and peacoat weather.

She earned her B.A. in Advertising and Marketing from San Diego State University, and built the foundation of her career in a variety of communications roles, dabbling in everything from copywriting and public relations to graphic design, email marketing, and more. Beginning in the nonprofit industry through national organizations such as the YMCA and United Way, she learned to wear many hats, which has helped tremendously since she entered the agency space in 2016.

In her free time, Joanna powers through fiction novels and blocks of cheese in single sittings, loves leg day at the gym and secretly aspires to fulfill her destiny as a crazy cat lady (can you ever really just stop at one?). She continues her nonprofit involvement through volunteering for Core Paws, bringing awareness to hard-to-place animal adoption cases.

Describe your perfect Sunday morning: I sleep in until 8 a.m. When I wake up, I have no errands to run and no need to go to the chaos that is Costco. My apartment is clean, laundry is done, fridge is stocked, and bills are paid. I spend the day with a good book and/or visiting friends and family.

Do you squeeze toothpaste from the middle or end? Middle... and then once a week, I squeeze everything up from the bottom toward the middle.

Favorite phone app: Amazon. My postal carrier probably thinks I have a problem.

How do you take your coffee? Black with cream, if it's from the coffee pot. Latte if I'm at the coffee shop.

Favorite thing about the county fair: Baby goats.

A random fact you know: People are actually trying to establish a nation in space called Asgardia. You can sign up now to be considered for citizenship.

Weapon of choice in a zombie apocalypse: Katana.

Favorite flavor of chips: Salt and vinegar.
