At Wonderist Agency, we guarantee you’ll have problems to solve. You’ll be dragged into projects in the 11th hour. And you’ll be expected to create and contribute to our ever-evolving processes. The work isn’t easy. It’s dental. And there’s plenty to go around.

We need a skilled Business Development Representative with the flexibility to turn on your heels when priorities change, the thoughtfulness to do what’s in the best interest of the team, and the desire to always produce your best work. We do what’s right for the client, not just what’s easy. And that’s what makes our jobs gratifying. Along with unlimited PTO and a dog-friendly office, these are some of the reasons Wonderist Agency has been voted one of San Diego's Best Places to Work.

We are a fast-growing startup of over 30, and that means we’re agile. We’re able to try new things and experiment. It also means we make time to celebrate the work, each other when we hit our quarterly goals, or every Friday at 5 pm. Our favorite dive bar, Desi’s, is just down the street and right across from Liberty Station, so we’ve got our location going for us.

Basically, we need someone who’s willing to work really hard and doesn’t get discouraged when a client or project is going off the rails. So if you’ve got a lot of grit and an equal amount of gumption, keep reading...

Our perfect fit would be a motivated go-getter who can identify good opportunities for potential new clients, pitch our products and services, and set us apart from the pack. Marketing is a somewhat intangible product and building trust and a great connection off the bat is important as well as setting realistic expectations! This job isn’t all about talking though, we also expect organizing and tracking leads through the CRM, creating reports, and being creative with new strategies.

  • Superb Communication Skills: You will be the first point of contact to almost every potential new client. This initial contact can make or break a deal and being able to connect with the potential client, convey value in our products and services, and facilitate and control the process is essential.
  • Good Business Sense: We are marketing for Doctor’s businesses, and they expect us to understand that. You have to understand where they are coming from and how marketing applies to them. Each practice is different and each Doctor has their own ideas, now how do we connect the dots.
  • Negotiation Skills: You will have to make sure that you stay savvy when it comes to negotiation. Everybody wants a deal, but not everybody deserves one. Being able to position and negotiate to win over new clients and diagnose when and when not to give a deal.
  • Elite Level Organization: When you are managing 40-50 open deals, the only way to remember what you need to get done is by staying organized. You will have to create reports, track wins-losses, manage leads, schedule calls, send quotes, and so much more. New sales is how we continue to grow and tracking that is always important, but also fun.
  • Positive Attitude: People say no in sales, it’s inevitable. No matter the case, sales goals stay the same and jumping back in the driver's seat and controlling the things you can control with a can-do attitude is crucial to success.
